SCREENWRITER. PROFESSOR POET FILMMAKER DREAMER

Screenwriter from Another World.

“Hannah and I have studied together at USC, and she is one of the most imaginative, creative screenwriters I have ever read!! She's able to bring the reader into worlds far beyond our own and tell a great story. Such a unique artistic voice!” —Marisa Torelli-Pedevska, screenwriter, Sloan finalist

“Hannah is a truly gifted creative writer with a strong work ethic. I had the pleasure of studying with her while earning our MFAs at USC in Writing for Screen and Television. Her knowledge of the craft of screenwriting allows her to create beautiful and haunting stories.” — Nick Tassoni, screenwriter, PAGE awards quarter finalist.

we write to dream

Hannah Dominique Scofield grew up telling stories to her siblings. For years, she’d walk laps on her gravel driveway that snaked beside her family’s dilapidated southern “mansion.” As she’d listen to the muddy creek wisshhh in the woods around her, she wondered what other places were like in God’s world(s).

In 2019, Scofield graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in English and Film from Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama, with awards in journalism, literature, and film. In 2021, she completed her M. F. A. in screenwriting from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, John Wells Division. She now teaches screenwriting in Houston, Texas, and has a feature film in post-production. Her writings, lyrical and introspective, create vivid landscapes from the whimsical universes of her mind.

“A FOREST OF DREAMS!

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO LIVE IN A

FOREST OF DREAMS!”

—FROM DAYWAKE, A SCREENPLAY BY HANNAH SCOFIELD

“We stroll, the world and I,

Thinking. Wishing. Longing.

Thumping our weathered soles on our driveways, our sidewalks,

searching for lives lost--for the hands that once tickled us, for the

lips that whispered sweet honey in our ears.

We wonder where the euphoria of it all went.

Perhaps in spring’s blossoms,

we will find vitality again.”

Hannah loves to draw, but she can’t quite figure out straight lines.
